Aunt Jane was the one who introduced Felicity to the Fancy Nancy series of books by Jane O’Connor. Nancy is a very unique little girl who loves to dress up and do all things fancy, even using fancy words. The illustrations are great too. Apparently the illustrator, Robin Preiss Glasser was a ballerina at one time, and most of her illustrations of Nancy have her in some ballet type pose.
Anyway, in the first book (pictured here), Nancy laments how its tough being the only fancy one in the family. One day she gets the idea to offer free fancy lessons to her mom, dad and little sister.
They get all dressed up and go out to eat at some little diner or something. Well, Felicity had been bugging us to go out to a “fancy dinner” for a while, and last weekend we finally did it!
Felicity wore all of her Fancy Nancy stuff that she got from Uncle Kenny, plus a few other fancy accessories! Mom even put a little makeup on her. She picked out all of our outfits and then we went to Panda Express, oooh la la! It was fun, and some of the pictures are really classic. I think they capture the stage that Felicity is at right now. So enjoy a few of my favorite photos below, or check out the rest in the April 2009 photo set.
