Michaela turned 3 months this past Friday (the 13th, guess it is not so unlucky, huh?). She is getting so big now. She is reaching for and sometimes grabbing toys that are within her reach, she likes to talk to us, she loves her play gym, she is smiling a lot and has started to recognize mommy and daddy and even Felicity when we walk into her eye sight. But her big accomplishment to date is that she has learned to roll over. She can roll over from her tummy to her back (not with a lot of frequency yet) and does it pretty well. For a few days before she first did it, she was getting really close to rolling over from her back to her tummy. In fact she was so close to doing it that we thought she would do it that way first. But she surprised us one day but rolling over the other way.

Michaela Update
Jun 15
This past weekend was a very busy one! Saturday was my niece Jackie’s graduation from Salpointe Catholic High School, my HS alma mater. It was very exciting to live vicariously through her and remember what it was like moving from HS to college. I think Jackie could have done without all of the ceremony and pomp and circumstance.
My brother Ted is Jackie’s godfather, so he flew in with his oldest son, Nick on Friday to attend her graduation. Nick is graduating from 8th grade in the coming days also! Ted is also Michaela’s godfather, so we were fortunate to be able to schedule her baptism for this weekend to take advantage of Ted being in town.
Michaela was baptized at our home Parrish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton at the 9am mass. As I mentioned, Ted Post was the godfather and Becky’s eldest sister, Ann Polakowski was her godmother. Ann came in to Phoenix on Friday, and came down to Tucson on Saturday. It was her and Hayden’s first time meeting Michaela too.
I really enjoyed having the baptism during mass, and truly welcoming her into the church community. I was a little nervous lifting her up, but I didn’t drop her so everything worked out fine. But I think half of our family and probably the congregation was hearing “The Circle of Life” from the Lion King in their head when I did that.
Of course private baptism ceremonies are nice sometimes too, like what we did with Felicity. Afterwards we had a little party at our house of course. It was a really nice day and it so special to have most of our family there for the event, especially Michaela’s godparents! Thanks Kris and Erik for lending us your spouses!
Blooming and Growing
Apr 28
The past few weeks there have been so many things blooming and growing around our house! We have these shrubs in the back yard, I wish I could remember their names, but they struggle all summer long and they did pretty well over the winter…but now they are like solid flowers! They are so beautiful! And our rose bushes are doing better than they ever have before. Our little Arizona Ash tree is greening up like crazy too. I might have to trim it a little it’s getting so top heavy.
And of course, our little Michaela is growing like a weed too! She’s six and a half weeks now. She’s not sleeping through the night but she’s getting close. Once in a while we have a night where she goes from about 9 or 10 until 5 am. But usually she’s up once sometime around 2 or 3 am and again around 5 or 6. She’s really filling out and I think she looks completely different than when she was a newborn.
She is getting pretty good at holding her head up already, and her legs are really strong. I think she sometimes rolls herself onto her side by accident but not consistently yet. And she started smiling a week or two ago. It’s kind of a mouth wide open kind of smile, but its cute. We usually have to work at it to get her to do it, except for her big sister Lissie, she can usually do it really easy! And speaking of Felicity, she still loves being a big sister and recently got to give her sister a bottle for the first time. She was very excited, but being a 2.5 year old, she lost interest after about a minute and Dad had to finish up!
Welcome Michaela Kate!
Mar 18
Becky, Felicity and I are very excited to announce our special arrival, Michaela Kate Post! (pronounced Makayla). Click here or on the photo for more photos.
She was born on Thursday, March 13 at 7:39PM and weighed in at 8-lbs 2-oz, and was 19-in long. She is healthy and beautiful! Becky is doing well also. She looks more than a little bit like her big sister! Felicity was at the hospital when she was born and got to see her that night. She took to her new sister right away, and is just thrilled have her around. I think she would have held her all night if we let her. She loves holding her and trying to give her binky (pacifier) to her. She doesn’t seem too bothered by her crying either which is good.
We came home from the hospital Saturday night and are adjusting to the new routines with the help of Grandma Ellis who will be with us for the rest of the week. We’re bleary-eyed and exhausted most of the time but we are so thrilled and blessed to have her in our family.
Yep, today is baby post’s due date but we’re still waiting for our world to change! The good news is that we know we have less than a week to wait. We have a scheduled induction for next Thursday the 13th should baby decide not to come out on his/her own! Becky is hanging in there, pretty uncomfortable and starting to get a little cold or allergies or something. We’ll keep everyone posted if anything develops.
4 Days and Counting
Mar 3
Well, we are now down to 4 days to our due date, but like everybody knows most babies don’t come on that date anyway. So, I guess you could say that we have anywhere from hours to another couple of weeks before this baby decides to make its grand entrance into this world. As promised, here’s my latest picture at 39 weeks. Do I look ready or what?!?!![]()
So last night Becky was having some contractions. They seemed to be slightly more intense than the Braxton-Hicks (BH) contractions she had been having so we were pretty excited…although Becky didn’t want to have a leap baby! So before we went to bed I was timing them, and then at about 2 am, she started having more of them so I..ahem…timed those as well. But it was dark, and I was tired because I didn’t come to bed until 12am. So I tried to stay awake, but I really ended up dozing off the 10-min or so between contractions. In the end, the contractions stopped about 5 am and we went to sleep until Felicity woke us a little before 7. So when we got up this morning, Becky and I both had a pretty good laugh at the paper I was writing the contractions down on! LOL!
Single Digits
Feb 28
Well, I am still pregnant! I am getting very anxious to have this baby make his/her arrival, but he/she just doesn’t seem to want to make it yet. Yesterday I reached a very big milestone . . . SINGLE DIGITS!! As of today I only have 8, yep that’s right 8 more days until my due date. Although at this rate I am sure I am still in double digits until the day the baby is actually born! Oh well, he/she has to come out sometime! I plan to get another picture of me and my very heavy, back hurting belly very soon (hopefully tomorrow). When I do I will be sure to post another blog.
Randy has also posted the rest of the pregnancy pictures that I had take by Michelle Molnar (or her blog). Look under the photos tab for them. They are not all of them, just our favorites.
More Preggie Pictures
Feb 14
Well Jennifer, you asked so here you go! Actually we were quite a bit behind in posting Becky’s pregnancy pictures. I updated the pictures in the Baby 2 – Ultrasound and Preggie Pics photo set, so go check them out. Just for kicks, I put the whole series of photos below so you can watch the bump grow. Also, about a month ago, I took some portraits of Becky, similar to what we did with Felicity. They turned out very cute. But about two weeks ago, one of our friends, Michele Molnar, came over and took some MUCH better portraits of Becky. She was working on building her portfolio. She gave us a DVD with all the photos on it, and as soon as Becky tells me which ones I can post, I’ll do that. In the meantime you can see them on Michele’s Blog.
Preggo Pics
Nov 10
I have had some recent requests to post my lastest pregnancy pictures. So, I decided to post them all. Randy and I take a new picture of my expanding belly every 5 weeks, something that we started with Felicity. So, the first picture is at 5 weeks, the 2nd is at 10 weeks, the 3rd is at 15 weeks and the last one is at 20 weeks. As of today, I am 23 weeks along, so the last one is a little old. Enjoy!!
