In case you missed these photos…

I try to post photos about every month (sometimes every couple!), but if you don’t go to the Photos section, you might not know when there are new photos.  This should catch you up! Of course you can always go directly to our Flickr photo gallery (the photo gallery on this site is powered by Flickr and a cool WordPress Flickr photo album plugin).

Christmas Morning 2009

The big Santa reveal on Christmas Morning.

Lil’ Yogis

Becky goes to a yoga class three times a week at the Pointe of Grace dance studio, the same place Felicity goes for her dance class. The other night we had dinner at the place right by the studio and Becky brought her yoga clothes to change into. Nobody else showed for the class, so Ms. Kim (the owner) and Ms. Amy (the teacher) said the girls could stay. Felicity likes to do yoga but Michaela doesn’t have the patience yet. But she did do a few poses with them!

Michaela Turned One (a month ago)

We haven’t posted in a while…yadda yadda…as usual we’re playing catch up with the  blog…you know the drill.

2009-03-13_0705_IMG_0064Last month Michaela turned one! What a wonderful year it has been, and we are all thoroughly enjoying the rapid pace of her development now…it seems like every day she tries some new sound/word, takes more steps, plays new games.

2009-03-13_1324_IMG_0071 On the morning of her birthday (3/13) we gave her her present from us, her very own princess chair! She loves having one just like her sister does. That night we had a little practice round for her birthday party and gave her a cupcake…also a pretty big hit.

Then the next day, we had a party at our house. The photos are up if you want to view all of them, but here are a few highlights.

Our little crawler

Michaela has officially started to crawl.  It started on Thursday night with just a few steps and now it mad crawling steps.  She can crawl all the way down our hallway now!  Today she even started to pull her self up to a standing position without any help from us.  She is getting good.  Here’s a video of her crawling a little bit.  Enjoy.

Happy Halloween!

We hope everybody had a safe and wonderfully spooky Halloween!!  We had a great time celebrating Michaela’s first Halloween, even though she had no idea what was going on.  Felicity was Princess Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty), of course . . . did you expect anything else?!  Michaela was a flower or according to big sister she was “fowler.”  Mommy and Daddy raided Felicity’s dress up chest at the last minute to find something to wear, sort of.  Mommy was also a flower and daddy was a bunny.  Someone asked if he was a Playboy bunny, aren’t Playboy bunnies girls?  What where they thinking?

Michaela didn’t really know what was going on.  I carried her for a little bit then she rode in the stroller the rest of the night.  She mostly just sat there and chewed on her costume.  She did pretty good.  Felicity was her usual shy self!!  She didn’t say Trick-or-Treat, okay I take that back.  A couple of houses got a “trick” and maybe 1 or 2 houses got a full “Trick-or-Treat,” but most houses got nothing!!!  Sometimes she was so shy she wouldn’t even reach out with her bag to get the candy.  Maybe next year she will be better . . . maybe little sister will have to drag her around to the houses.  :)    Oh well, she still had fun dressing up and this year she got to wear make-up!  Here’s our Halloween night:

Don’t worry, that’s lipstick on Michaela’s forehead, thanks to her sister and her constant kissing!

Michaela’s Day & Pumpkins

On Sunday the 19th we had a “Baby Party” for Michaela.  We didn’t have a baby shower for her when I was pregnant with because we didn’t know if she was a boy or a girl.  Either way we didn’t need baby stuff since we already had everything from when Felicity was a baby, but if Michaela would have been a boy we would have needed boy clothes.  So, we decided not to  have anything until after she was born to see what gender the baby would be.  Since she was a girl, we needed nothing for her, but we eventually decided that she and her new life needed to be celebrated, hence the baby party.  We had it at the park next to our house.  It was a beautiful day, a little on the warm side, but beautiful none the less.  We had lots of friends and family there for the potluck BBQ.  It was so nice to be outside celebrate a special little girl!  Thanks to everybody who came for making it a nice day!!!  Here are some pictures of that day.

This past Saturday we went to a new (at least to us it was new) pumpkin patch in 3 points at a farm called Buckelew Farms.  They had wagons pulled by horses that took you out the pumpkin patch, they had a small petting zoo, and some activities for the kids.  They even had a corn field maze, but the girls are too little for that, maybe in a few years.  It was a nice day picking out our Halloween pumpkins and just hanging out.  This pumpkin patch was a lot closer than the one we usually go to, but it didn’t have the yummy apples like the other place!!  Here are the patch pictures.

Last night we carved those pumpkins that we picked out.  Felicity is turning into a little girly girl.  She didn’t like being out in the pumpkin patch because she was afraid of getting dirty.  So . . . she didn’t really like cleaning out the pumpkin because she didn’t want to get dirty.  She even took her dress off before she finally stuck her hand in the pumpkin!  Michaela thought the pumpkin guts were a little strange, but didn’t seem to mind.  Then she became more interested in the newspaper that the pumpkins were sitting on!  My job seems to be the cleaning and Randy’s seems to be the actual carving, but that’s okay, I like the pumpkin guts!  Here are the pictures of the carving fun!

A new taste

We decided that we were going to start feeding Michaela “solids” at around 6 months.  Then when she started sitting up by herself we decided that when she had perfected sitting enough to sit in the highchair we would start.  So, this past week we have been testing out the highchair.  Every night at dinner she sat in her highchair at the table with us.  We loaded her up with toys and she sat in there all through dinner just playing and talking.  It was great dinner entertainment!!  :)

Last night was the big one.  She had her first taste of rice cereal.  She seemed to like it and got the hang of the “eating” pretty quickly.  She saw the spoon coming and would open wide.  She was pretty messy by the end of dinner, as she got it all over, but hey, that is part of the experience.

These pictures are of her very first bit and the reaction afterwards.

These are some after dinner pictures.  Notice in the first picture that she has rice cereal all over her hands and yep, her foot too!!!

Busy Baby Bee

Wow!  Michaela has had a very busy couple of weeks!!  She has learned so much lately and even has a few new “friends.”  About 2 weeks ago, Randy and I bought some new bikes and a bike trailer for the girls.  Felicity won’t be in it for too much longer since she will be getting something of her own for her birthday in a few weeks (but of course she doesn’t know that yet).  Felicity loves riding in it and Michaela does pretty well in it too.  Most of the time she falls asleep, but when she isn’t napping she just sits there and takes everything in.  It is really cute to see them both sitting there in the trailer!  In this picture Michaela wasn’t that happy, in fact she was a little grumpy at that moment!IMG_6538 IMG_6542

She has also been learning to do things very quickly now-a-days.  She has learned to hold her bottle . . . sort of.  She can hold it, but still has a hard time holding it up right enough to get anything out.  It is still pretty cute though!!  She is certainly trying!

But a bigger accomplishment is that she is sitting up all by herself.  One day she could do it with my Bobby behind, then a few days later she was doing it with only me sitting behind her to catch her if she fell and then a few days after that she was doing it all by herself.  She is definitely not at that point where we can leave her there all by herself.  Now she is really trying to catch herself if she is falling.  A lot of the time she will start leaning to one side or the front or back and she will catch herself and straighten up, but if she starts leaning to fast or just flat out falls, she can’t right herself and mommy or daddy has to grab her.

And who are her new friends you ask?  Well, one is Allison and the other is Bailey.  Nope they are not little girls, they are her first two teeth!!!!  Her first tooth came in and Randy named it Allison (he also named Felicity’s first 4 teeth).  Then just 2 days later her second tooth came and that one is named Bailey.  It seems too early for her to have teeth since she is only 5 months old, especially when you compare it to big sister who didn’t get her first tooth until she was 9 months old!!!  Maybe this means Michaela with have more than Felicity before she is 2 years old!!  :)

Michaela and Hoover

Michaela had her 4 month check up today.  She had to get 2 shots plus an oral vaccine and she did great.  Hardly any crying at all!  She weighed 15 pounds 5 ounces and was 26 1/8 inches long.  Her weight was in the 75 percentile and her height was in the 95!  She is going to be tall and thin just like her big sister.

And what about Hoover?  Well, last week Hoover came in with a bloody paw.  After a few days of her bleeding and Randy wrapping her paw in band-aids and tape we noticed that the pad that had a small cut on it was very red and so was the rest of her pads.  On Sunday I took her to an “urgent care vet” and it turns out that she has an infection.  She is on an antibiotic.  They also put an antibiotic cream on a gauze pad and then seriously wrapped her paw up.  It is supposed to last 5 days!!  They also gave her a cone so she wouldn’t chew on the bandage.  She has left it alone, we have only caught her 2 or 3 times chewing on it, so we have opted to not use the cone.  Well, when we had to leave today to Michaela to the doctor we decided that putting the cone on would be better . . . just in case.  Hoover was not very happy about it at all!!!  When she walked around in it, she ran into walls and was desperately trying to get it off.  Kona also hates the cone.  It makes her VERY angry and she attacks her sister.  Poor Hoover is practically defenseless with it on and has a very hard time fending off Kona.  Here is a picture of Hoover with her bandage and the cone being attacked by Kona.  I think Hoover looks like a race horse with her leg wrapped up like that!
