We babysat for Mikey and Grady Urbanski on Saturday. I thought it would be fun to have a little puppet show. When Lisa saw this video, she described it (rather appropriately) as a Fandango Commercial “on Crack”. This allstar cast of puppeteers included Felicity, Mikey and Randy. Lead puppet pummeler was Grady and pummeler’s apprentice was Michaela.

I was a little late this year (like every year) in overseeding the lawn, just did it a little over a week ago. The doves love to come and eat the seeds. Hoover and especially Kona do a great job chasing them off, but they need their beauty sleep.
On Friday I knew the dogs were asleep but I heard a bunch of wings flap as the doves flew off the lawn. Turns out a hawk had landed on our wall and was hanging around keeping an eye out for stragglers. She was a beautiful bird, gave us a good look at those gray striped tail feathers. After a little poking around on Google, it appears to have been a Cooper’s Hawk.
Happy Halloween!
Nov 3
We hope everybody had a safe and wonderfully spooky Halloween!! We had a great time celebrating Michaela’s first Halloween, even though she had no idea what was going on. Felicity was Princess Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty), of course . . . did you expect anything else?! Michaela was a flower or according to big sister she was “fowler.” Mommy and Daddy raided Felicity’s dress up chest at the last minute to find something to wear, sort of. Mommy was also a flower and daddy was a bunny. Someone asked if he was a Playboy bunny, aren’t Playboy bunnies girls? What where they thinking?
Michaela didn’t really know what was going on. I carried her for a little bit then she rode in the stroller the rest of the night. She mostly just sat there and chewed on her costume. She did pretty good. Felicity was her usual shy self!! She didn’t say Trick-or-Treat, okay I take that back. A couple of houses got a “trick” and maybe 1 or 2 houses got a full “Trick-or-Treat,” but most houses got nothing!!! Sometimes she was so shy she wouldn’t even reach out with her bag to get the candy. Maybe next year she will be better . . . maybe little sister will have to drag her around to the houses.
Oh well, she still had fun dressing up and this year she got to wear make-up! Here’s our Halloween night:
Don’t worry, that’s lipstick on Michaela’s forehead, thanks to her sister and her constant kissing!
Over the last couple of days our family has had a few days that our special to us. June 12 was the 4th anniversary of Faith Emma’s death. Life with a 2 1/2 year old and 3 month old made it pretty difficult to stop and actually think about it, which is both sad and nice all at the same time. It was nice because I didn’t have to be too sad all day. That night after the girls went to bed, Randy and I lit a candle and said a little prayer for our daughter. I caught myself watching Felicity playing and I thought to myself, if we hadn’t lost Faith than we wouldn’t have Felicity or Michaela. And while that doesn’t make us miss her any less it does bring us a small amount of comfort. Faith, we love you and miss you very, very much!!!
The other big day was of course Father’s Day. We had a great day. The girls gave Randy a book called “Cinderella, The Love of a Daddy and His Princess” and a framed plaque that talks about a daddy’s love. We went to mass in the morning and after that we went to Lowe’s to let Randy pick out the present from me, a hedge trimmer!! Then we wet to lunch to celebrate. Once the girls went down for a nap we got to work on cleaning our office for our new shutters!![]()
After almost 5 years of having no window coverings on her office window we decided to get some shutters on it. We were going to use our “economic stimulus check” to pay for them, but thanks to some stupid rule, we aren’t getting it until the 27th (don’t get me started on that whole thing)! Well, the shutters were installed today and they look fantastic! Here are the before and after pictures. The before picture is kind of bad because the window lets so much light into the office, but I think you can get the idea.
And finally the other big day in our house is today, June 16th. Today is our 7th wedding anniversary! We went to dinner to Oregano’s on Friday night and Grandma and Grandpa Post watched the girls. We had a nice time just the two of us! Tonight will be pretty low-key with the girls. Happy Anniversary Randy! I love you!!
I envisioned that song playing in the background of this post, but when I told Becky about my idea, she just rolled her eyes!
I got my first pair of glasses. I need them for distance right now, driving (especially at night) and perhaps most importantly, watching U of A basketball games! Do you think they make me look more smarter?
One goal for 2008
Jan 14
I haven’t really mentioned this before for fear of people actually holding me to it, but I have sort of a pseudo New Years resolution. I want to make 2008 the “Year of the Blog”. Not just for this blog, but I also have another blog-type site for geotechnical and geological
The New RnRPost.com Website
Jan 10
Well, it was finally time. RandyPost.com has been around for years now and when Becky and I got married, we decided on a new domain name of RnRPost.com (Randall ‘n Rebecca Post…seems a little corny to me now but it sounded good at the time
). It’s only been about 6+ years since that happened and I’m finally launching the new and improved Becky and Randy Post Family website and blog!
I moved all of our blog posts over from Blogger and started using Flickr for the photo gallery. Be patient with me as Becky and I both get used to the new format. But I think the advantages of the Flickr route will be big, especially that our friends and family will be able to download high resolution versions of the photos. So you can browse the photos here on RnRPost.com or you can do it directly at our Flickr page. For those of you who don’t have an online photo gallery, I highly recommend Flickr. You’ll probably want the paid version, it’s a steal at only $25/year for unlimited storage of your photos.
So poke around and enjoy. I’m almost caught up with the photo uploading that I’ve been neglecting for the past few months. I’ll let you know when I’m caught up. I hope to keep RandyPost.com around indefinitely because I don’t want to do anything with all of the old photos. So if you’re looking for photos from prior to around September or October of 2007, try there.
