Wow, I can’t believe we haven’t posted since October. I guess having a very busy toddler around has prevented me from doing it.
What’s Randy’s excuse?!
Anyway, there is so much to catch up on, but here’s the cliff notes. Felicity will be 2 in September and we can hardly believe she is 2 already!!! It has become very obvious that she has hit the “terrible twos.” She is starting to throw lots of fits when she doesn’t get her own way! She really like doing things all by herself and will let you know when she DOES NOT need any help.
She has also become very much a little girl! When you ask her what she wants to wear in the
mornings, she says “dress.” And she loves her shoes!!!! She has even been known to get several pairs of my shoes (usually the high heeled ones), put them on and walk around the house in them. Even if they don’t match. She also LOVES her babies. She won’t go to sleep without one (or more) in her crib and she always asks for one when she is swinging in her swing outside. She likes to talk on the phone (or “hi” as she calls it) all the time. I thought that was a teenage thing? Who knew it started so early!
She has even started to play pretend. She will pretend that her babies are crying and she will go over to them pick them up and rub their backs. The other day she put her Elmo down for a nap by covering him with a blanket. When I asked her if he needed a new diaper she said no at first. Then a few minutes later she came out of her room with one and tried to put it on him! Randy made a house for her out of a big cardboard box and she loves playing in it. It is so cute!
But she does have some knowledge of the boy world. She loves watching for “choo-choo” when we go out driving as well as pointing out every truck that we pass. At the moment she also really likes pointing out airplanes when they are flying in the sky. Every time she hears one she looks up and starts searching for it. And you can always tell the exact second that she spots it. Her face lights up and she smiles from ear to ear. Maybe she will be a pilot one day and can fly her mom and dad all over the world.
Felicity is getting so big now. Her skills as a talker are really increasing daily. She is always trying to pronounce new words, even if they come out wrong. And now she is really starting to grasp the concept of sentences and trying to express her trains of thought. They other day we were getting out of the pool and she said “home, Kona, Hoover, eat” all at once. I guess she was ready to go home get Hoover and Kona and eat some lunch.
Well, that’s pretty much the low down for now. I am going to try to be better about updating it, but we all know that I am apparently all talk!!
